Keerthi Pasquel, a household name in
the music arena, began his musical career as bass guitarist
for the group “Galaxies” in 1976. His original
debut song was recorded in 1980 and his maiden audio
cassette released in 1985. To-date he has sung over
300 songs winning the hearts and admiration of a multitude
of music-lovers. He has so far
released 12 audio-cassettes and compact disks including:

Keerthi, a playback singer for films
and tele-dramas, has strummed his bass guitar for well
over 10,000 song recordings. He has also composed music
for films, tele-dramas and for leading singers in the
country. His youthful looks paved the way for him to
act main roles in tele-dramas.( Charulatha, gawwen gawwa,
Tharu, and Sara.) With his wide repertoire, he has rendered
his voice to many commercial jingles.
“Keerthi Gee”, his one-man
show commenced in the year 1988. To-date he has performed
more than 100 shows in Sri Lanka and abroad.
An important landmark in his career
was the beginning of many visits overseas on musical
tours. With his lilting voice and inimitable style of
singing, he enraptured the audiences in Abu Dhabi, Dubai,
Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Doha Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Japan,
Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, France, England,
Canada and the USA at more than 110 shows.
In 1983 he re-organized “Fortunes”
and was with the band for several years. Thereafter
in 1989 he formed his own group called “The Super
Fortunes”. The band made a great impact both in
Sri Lanka and overseas. On his return from New Zealand
after 4 years he formed a new band called “Sonic”
which is currently performing under his guidance and
leadership.
He has won many an award in Sri Lanka
for music and singing. The crowning glory was in the
year 1996 when he was honoured with an International
Award from the World Science Council in Japan where
he competed with musicians of repute from 13 countries.
