Lakpahana is the premier all in one Sri Lankan Handicrafts Shop. Lakpahana or the light of Sri Lanka was begun by Deshamanya Mrs. Siva Obeyesekere in 1973. Deshamanya Mrs. Obeyesekere is a former President of the World Craft Council and a former Chairman of the National Crafts Council. She is one of the most authoritative people in Sri Lankan handicrafts and is a recipient of numerous awards from the Government of Sri Lanka and was awarded the prestigious 'KAMALA SAMMAN' from India for her contribution to Sri Lankan handicrafts.
A wide selection of handicrafts of pottery, precious stone and silver jewellery, metal ware, woodwork, masks, drums, lacquer work, traditional musical instruments, horn work, lace and embroidered items, batiks, rush and reed ware, cane and bamboo work, shell crafts, handloom products, coir work and Sri Lankan sweet meats are all displayed under one roof.
